We have been working hard to improve our photo booths and technology for you for 2012. You don't want to miss coming to check us out at the Osborne Jenks CT Bridal expo this weekend at the CT Convention Center! We've got some fun new things to show you that will make your wedding unforgettable! We've done three things to dramatically improve our booth (And we haven't raised our prices!). 1. We've replaced all our printers with the best we could find on the market! They are now printing 2 copies in 20 seconds! 2. We've added "live preview" in the booth so your guests can see themselves in the shot BEFORE it's taken! and 3. We now have email capabilities so your guests will not only get their strips, but they will have their image in their email as well for them to use as they wish (Post on Facebook, get reprints, etc.).

The Expo Season Continues-Come visit this weekend!

 

New England Photo Booth will be at two expos this Sunday, January 29th! One is a wedding expo and the other is a Bar/Bat Mitzvah expo. Check out the details below. If you're getting married or planning a Bar/Bat Mitzvah, you definitely want to come see us! We've got all the new equipment for you to try out! See how the "live preview" and email capabilities work. Your guests will now be able to see themselves in the shot BEFORE it's taken and they will have their images in their email SECONDS after they exit the booth.

With 4 years under our belt and over 1000 events completed, it was time to step it up and once again improve our booth experience for our clients.

 

Check out what we've done to our printers, cameras, and screens!

 

Printer

Printer technology has come a long way in five years!  After a lot of research and testing various models, these new dye-sublimation photo printers are the best we could find.  Demonstrating our commitment to offer the best photo booth on the market, we have upgraded our printers for the second time.  We are excited to run these new printers at our events as the quality is even higher than their predecessors.  They run a little over three times faster than the previous models, which means we will be able to deliver even more prints to your guests in the allotted rental time. 

Another valuable feature with these new printers is that they can print 1400 photo strips without ever having to change the paper roll.  Now there will be no delays for changing the paper at your event and more guests will be able to enjoy the booth!  The super high quality prints, coupled with the fastest print times on the market, makes these printers the best option for a photo booth!

Camera

Although we were shooting with high end DSLR cameras already, the latest releases have amazing new technology that improves the functionality of the booth.  Our new cameras not only shoot at 18 Megapixel file size, ensuring that each photo taken is the highest quality, but they allow for 1080p High Definition Video Capture as well as a high resolution Live Preview capability for inside the booth.

Users will now be able to see a live video feed of themselves in the booth that will mirror their actions in real time.  This means the user will be able to center themselves in the each shot and have an idea of what the photo will look like before it is taken.  This function will be available on all 10 of our Photo Booths and will greatly improve the quality of the photos taken as well as improving the experience of your guests when using the booth!

The high resolution images combined with the new high quality printers really makes for an unbelievable photo booth image!

Touchscreen

Touchscreen is finally here!  We have been waiting for a reliable, high resolution, touchscreen to come to market and it has finally arrived!  These screens are 23” diagonal, providing a huge screen for your guests to interact with.  The touchscreen now allows the user to select the type of prints they would like (color, b&w, sepia) as well as triggers their photo booth session.  No longer do we need a button on the wall.  Everything is right there on the screen.

Also, the touchscreen allows the guests to enter their email addresses before each session.  This function, along with our new WiFi capability means that the guest will have the digital copies of their photo booth pictures sent directly to their inbox immediately after the session is complete.

Now your guests not only get their photos printed on site, but they also have access to the digitals that they can post to Facebook or have reprinted!  This is a value added service that is included with each package for no additional cost.  As always, you can have this function disabled if you wish!

Bridal Expos - Fun but Overwhelming!

 

Bridal expos are a fun rite of passage as a bride...It's a great time to spend with your bridesmaids and/or mother gathering information for your upcoming nuptuals and daydreaming about that special day. However, they also can be very overwhelming! Many of the brides we met this past weekend were inundated with information overflowing out of their various bags! One of our core staff members, Sara, is getting married in September so she was an attendee at the expo on Saturday and worked the expo on Sunday and she felt bombarded by some vendors. She felt she wasn't allowed to say "No" and had to visit every expo booth that pulled her in with their offers.

We know there are so many decisions to make for a wedding. We hope that we were helpful in the information gathering process for a photo booth rental. Years ago, there was only one company at the bridal expo, us. This year, there was 6, if not more companies, all competing to gain your photo booth rental business.We hope you didn't feel as Sara did when coming to visit. Our main intention was to get some good information in your hands. At the bridal expos, we had a sign that said "The Future of Photo Booths". Many of you asked, "Why the future?". Ring in the New Year with some fun in the Photo Booth!

 

Can you believe it's already that time of year again! Time to say goodbye to one year and hello to another. It's time to make those resolutions and start thinking about our plans for next year...but first it's time to party! New Year's is not only a time for parties but also for weddings! What a fun day to have your wedding...and better yet to have your anniversary year after year. And what would be better at your New Year's party or wedding than a photo booth to document the good times had!

A photo booth is a great way to capture everyone's last goofy faces and fun times of 2011 before the clock strikes 12 and that feeling of starting over begins! The photo booth allows you to get pics with everyone you love at the event...family, friends, and your spouse! In addition, the scrapbook from a New Year's event, especially a wedding is always fun to look back at, even the next day! People tend to let loose on New Year's Eve and the booth is there to capture all of it! The book becomes like a time capsule for years to come.

Planning has begun...Hire a Planner or No?

 

So, you've recently gotten engaged...the date is picked and it's time to really get going on the planning. The big question nowadays is whether or not to hire a wedding planner. We think there are arguments on both sides but having a planner if you can afford is definitely a plus!

First off, planning a wedding can be very stressful and labor intensive so having someone to share that stress with (besides your spouse!) is definitely a good thing. Secondly, a planner can get deals with companies that you as an independent bride may not be able to. Many planners have relationships with venues, vendors (including photographers, jewelers, djs, photo booth rental companies, and more), and other important players in your big day that can get them discounts or a little more thrown in for the same price. Lastly, a planner is someone who will be there on the big day to make sure that every little last detail is followed through on and they will care just as much as you do!

I remember the day I got married, I had lists upon lists to make sure I didn't forget anything. I remember running around the hotel like a lunatic with my hair up and my veil on but still in jeans trying to make sure everything I wanted to happen did before I went to put on my dress. If I had a planner doing that worrying for me, it would have been must less stressful!

At New England Photo Booth, we've worked with a few planners and we've had a great relationship with them. They have served as an intermediary between us and the bride and they have made sure that all the details were sorted out.

Newly Engaged? Make sure your guests 'Save the Date'!

 

Over the past 10 years or so, "Save the Dates" have become much more popular, especially with destination or holiday weddings. Couples want to make sure that all their planning isn't wasted if half their guests can't attend! Generally Save the Dates are fairly basic with the couples information, sometimes the location, and of course the date. It also has become the trend to have a picture of you on them as well.

With that said, we have started offering Save the Dates to our couples. It's a fun way to not only have your guests reserve your wedding date but it also gives them the indication that there will be fun entertainment at the wedding, A PHOTO BOOTH! Our photo strip save the dates come in a clear sleeve with or without magnets. This is definitely something your guests will enjoy getting in the mail especially if there's fun pictures from your past! Some couples do pics of them as kids and when they were dating or other are just all pics as a couple. They are yours to personalize!

What's the difference? Comparing Photo Booth Rental Companies

 

Many times we have couples call us and say "Well your "X" package is only $X at XYZ Photo Booth"...they are usually calling to tell us that the competition is cheaper and yes they are sometimes...however sometimes you do get what you pay for! All companies and all booths are not created equal!

We put a lot of effort into our customer service and keeping our photo booths and technology updated to create a better photo booth experience for you and your guests!

There are 4 main things that make some of our competition cheaper:

1. They do not do this FULL time! Many companies are run "on the side" by a DJ or wedding photographer or even someone who isn't otherwise involved the industry at all. The "PART time" companies can be difficult to get ahold of when you have the time! We pride ourselves on having full time staff to be available to answer your questions.

2. The camera equipment isn't the best it could be...in fact some companies use a webcam!

3. The booth itself is sometimes just a back drop with a curtain versus an actual booth!

4. The technology is old and outdated. We are always looking for ways to improve our computer and camera programs to give the best possible photo booth experience. In fact, we are working on some pretty exciting stuff right now that we hope to roll out in January at our wedding expos!

Now, I'm not saying there aren't some other good companies out there but these are just some reasons that we may not always come in at the cheapest! But, we are definitely worth it and deliver an awesome photo booth experience!
