A Part-Time VS. Full-Time Photo Booth Company-What to watch out for!
Many photo booth companies start as an extension of an already existing wedding business whether it be a DJ, photographer, or videographer looking to expand their services and make a quick buck in addition to their core trade. This is great for the customer in one respect because you only have to hire one vendor and 2 items are taken care of, however it is a dangerous practice if you're looking for a high quality experience and a really cool idea for favors and entertainment. Many of the "add-on" booths aren't even booths at all but a back drop with a web cam on a tripod which produce mediocre images. There are many advantages to going with a full-time photo booth company that does exclusively photo booth rentals. Included in these are 1. the availability of the staff before (and at) the event, 2. quality of the booth, images, experience, and products, and 3. From a technical side, there is much less room for issues the day of your big event!
The availability of the staff is a big issue for people in general when hiring a booth company. When the person is a part time DJ with a photo booth add-on, they can be hard to track down at the times you need them. Details may fall through the cracks because of lack of time spent before the event. Also, many of the "add-on" booths aren't manned with a technician the night of the event so you need to find the primary vendor if something should go wrong! In addition to the details, the quality may not be there as well.
The quality of the image, booth itself, and the experience are all very important to make your event go the way you want it to! As I said, the quality of these "Part-Time" booths may not be there because of the camera equipment and "booth" being used. You want the images to be taken at high enough resolution to be blown up into 8x10 prints. In addition, the photo strips themselves may not look the way you want due to the poor images. If these are your wedding favors, then you want them to look as good as they possibly can! Everyone will take these home and put them on their fridge...you want that to be a crisp clean awesome photo booth photo! And lastly, this image won't even make it to the fridge is the booth breaks down at the event.

The bigger "full-time" companies are able to have back up equipment should a piece fail. If a camera breaks in the middle of your event, you want to know there is a quick solution to get booth back in action as quickly as possible!
We have had to bail out some of those "part-time" companies before. We've literally gotten calls in the middle of a bar mitzvah or wedding reception saying their booth failed and they needed us to get there as soon as we could. Both times we were able to get in there and save the day!
Just keep this in mind when deciding what type of photo booth company to go with for your special event!
We are a full time booth company with high quality equipment appropriately staffed to make the details of day go the way you want!
